Live/Wire - Diary - St Austell
Definitely a case of schooldazed!! The last time so many schoolboys were seen in one place, must have been Form 5 in 1973!! The Keay Theatre is a favourite of the band – really supportive staff, as you may have read in Daz’s diary!
Then add a nicely maddening crowd & BINGO!, a recipe for proper rock n roll. St Austell was a hell of a journey from Friday’s show at Woodford Halse, but hey, you have to take this show all over the UK. Why bother otherwise? The crowd went from 0-60 in 2 seconds flat. From the opening chords of ‘Live Wire’, they were in full balls out mode and it gives the band an extra buzz when that happens.
Lorne, Jon & Grant took full advantage of the walkway. Grant especially confused Daz, Ed & Tink, when he came straight onto the walkway……..they could hear his inhumane yelp, but couldn’t see him!! The barrier at the stage front came under the pump, until, eventually, it gave way under the sheer force of beer & sweat!! We wouldn’t expect anything less………
Live/Wire thanks go to - the Keay staff –again!....Paul – a pleasure once again sir (Great t shirt too!)…. Bennetts, Ricko and the crew – madness reigns supreme, these are wild times indeed!....and all the young rockers – great to see the future of this music that we love is in safe hands.
PS – A tip. Never eat a carrot unless you know EXACTLY where it’s been beforehand…..
