Live/Wire - Diary - Double Diamond
This weekend was the luxury that is, playing the same venue two nights
running. No having to tear down the AC/DC Show & put it back up
again. It can just be left and torn down again the next night!
However, one VIP who was missing, was Eddie, who was quite literally
knocked off his feet on Tuesday and was unable to take the stage for
both nights. So, Friday saw our good mate, Colin, from Loaded on the
four strings & on Saturday night, it was Mick from DC79, who was in
the chair. We can’t thank either of these guys enough, for making sure
the weekend continued. Ed is at this very moment recovering, on a diet
of pills and rejoicing in the fact that his beloved Leeds United are
now in the top half of Division One! All our love to you Shakey.
It’s been said before that Live/Wire fans are fan-tastic. So, Jane of
Bracknell in Berkshire, stand up & take a bow. This lady, on
hearing about the band, drove up from Bracknell to Mansfield, to
witness first hand the AC/DC Show in full flight! ‘Nuff said.
Saturday, for the first time since Grant joined the band, saw a change
to the usual show format. As Mick’s repertoire is usually all Bon
songs, Jon opened the show – five songs later Grant came on for eight
tunes - then John closed the show out. The Diamond’s boss, Gary, said
that it was one of the best performance’s he’d seen the band deliver
over the years.
Live/Wire thanks go to – Gary & June for their continued support,
Jane for her jaunt, The two Sues, Scarborough Dave & Linda, Colin
& Mick (thump, thump), Triatore’s Restaurant – thanks for the
Grappa!, the Friday & Saturday night choirs and Daz, Tink & Jon
for the Sunday humping. We Salute You all…….
