Live/Wire - News - Thank you all
The last gig Livewire played in 2008 was on the 28th December at Vivaz in Scarborough…at the end of that night we all shook hands as we parted company wishing each other ‘all the best ‘ for next year. The band was moving in the right direction, momentum was picking up and 2009 looked like it would be the best year in the history of Livewire….. The team was complete, from the players in the band to the road crew…. We were ready for anything…or so we thought!
… So here we are at the end of September 2009, only months after laying to rest two of the nicest people in the world…Tink and Jane! The whole of the last few months seems like a blur, barely time to take everything in to come to terms with such a loss. The two gigs at ‘The Diamond’ were a very emotional time for both the fans and the members of Livewire, a time to grieve but also to celebrate the life of Tink and Jane and to share our stories with each other, to shed tears together and to smile and even laugh about the good times we all shared with them. Although at the time it was a difficult decision whether or not to go ahead with the gigs, in hindsight it proved the right thing to do for all of these reasons!
After a short break Livewire took to the road again in earnest early this September on the ‘For those about to rock’ tour with ‘Limehouse Lizzy’ starting at Liverpool Academy. It was a gruelling and difficult period, for many reasons.. The number of gigs in such a short period is by far the most Livewire has ever undertaken as demand for the band is at an all time high! But this is what we love to do, all of us! We live and breathe this music, the music of the greatest Rock ‘n’ roll band in history!
Though out the 10 dates we were overwhelmed by the support everyone has shown to the band and we are truly and deeply touched. We have many great things lined up for next year, bigger shows, new dates and more borders to cross (literally) and our mission is still to be the best AC/DC tribute we can possibly be…. This was Tinks wish, his goal and will forever remain his legacy!
Thank you all... The train rolls on.....
